Ductoscopy

Ductoscopy is a diagnosis and treatment device used to identify and remove wart-like lesions that are located in the ductal system of breasts, cause nipple discharge and pose risk of cancer. Ductoscopy can demonstrate wart-like lesions, measuring 1 mm in diameter, in milk ducts, as such lesions cannot be detected by sonography and mammography. It is used for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Moreover, appropriate lesions can be removed in the same session. Since these lesions can be removed in selected patients in a ductoscopy session, surgery becomes unnecessary. In cases where the surgery is necessary, ability to mark the cancerous lesions located in milk ducts in advance guides the surgeon in a surgical procedure and thus, the damage to breast tissues is minimized.
